When John Lennon was shot, Marcus Cahill wanted to call up the band and offer to be the next Beatle. After all, he knew all the songs backwards. The only problem was that he was only 10 years old at the time. While he never did get to join the Beatles, Cahill is now the next best thing. Cahill has travelled the world over delivering his outstanding theatre show with his Imagine band, which has been applauded by the thousands of people who see him perform every year, including those at the annual International Beatle Week in Liverpool.  Cahill says “The songs of Lennon helped change the voice of popular music forever. He rescued rock n roll from the doldrums and helped give youth a culture a common voice all in the name of peace and love”.

Marcus recently had the honour of performing for The First Lady of Georgia. Following an outstanding performance at the world’s most famous club “The Cavern”, Marcus was given a personal invitation to perform in Tiblisi, Georgia. John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird is quoted as saying on his website “I heard Marcus singing what I can only describe as John songs, songs that John wrote, sang and loved. He sounds uncannily like John”.

BUDDY HOLLY LIVES! THE ULTIMATE TRIBUTE OUTDOOR DINNER SHOW

20th OCTOBER 2007 ” SOLD OUT “

MEDIA RELEASE -

Who’s Behind the Green Door presents Buddy Holly Lives, the ultimate tribute outdoor dinner show at the Swan Valley Oasis Resort, situated in the heart of the valley’s superb wineries and breweries, in picturesque Henley Brook.

The Buddy Holly Lives show is for all ages and will be held on Saturday October 20 commencing with Buddy Holly at 8.30pm under the stars and the delightful spring weather, where guests can dance, mingle and enjoy the live band and music till late. The band “One Thousand” will continue the show playing rock n roll hits of the 60s and 70s. A sumptuous smorgasbord set in a Las Vegas style, followed by a selection of sweets, coffee and tea is available for those who select the dinner package.

Buddy Holly’s career was unfortunately a short lived one, after dying in music histories most well known plane tragedy along with Richie Valens and JP Richardson in 1959 whilst on tour. Holly’s career took off after being discovered by a talent scout when he opened for Bill Haley and the Comets at a show in Texas. Holly’s innovative style, as well as his enthusiastic and energetic performances, made him one of the most popular singers in music history. Songs include “That’ll Be The Day”, “Oh Boy”, “Maybe Baby”, and of course “Peggy Sue”.

Sam Pulvirenti, director of Who’s Behind the Green Door says “our recent Roy Orbison show was a brilliant success held over two nights and one thousand people. The public keep asking us for more.” Sam goes on to say “our shows are more than the music, people can relive the days when, others can experience what they may have been too young to enjoy, some even say it’s a theatrical experience.”  Long standing hip and happening rockabilly musician, Felix Potier performs and has the natural look and talent of Buddy Holly at the age the iconic star died. Pulvirenti says “Felix is a reincarnation, his resemblance and gift is striking.”

A special twin share overnight package at the Swan Valley Oasis Resort which includes continental breakfast is also available for those who really want to indulge and soak up the valley’s atmosphere.
